Centaur was started in 1984 as a specialized mechanical design and testing company supporting the areas large automotive and nuclear industry. Centaur quickly developed, and now maintains, a high level of expertise in mechanical testing in its test laboratory. Customers such as Volvo Cars, SAAB, Volvo AB and Vattenfall are some of the companies that benefit from Centaur’s verification facilities.

In 1999 Centaur was ISO 9001 certified, followed by ISO 14001 certification in 2002. 

Centaur became part of SEGULA Technologies Group in 2006 and became Centaur – Segula Tech AB. This step provided opportunities in the global arena and expanded our expertise for the benefit of our customers.
 
Our main sectors are automotive, energy, marine/offshore and medical devices technology. Our main competence areas are within product and industrial development including project management, mechanical design, calculation, simulation and validation.
